Lever Foundation is a U.S.-based 501(c)3 tax-exempt public charity. Our team operates primarily across Asia—Greater China, India, Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia, Korea and Singapore—with additional staff in Europe and the Americas.

We think like a business. Our bottom line: maximize positive change per dollar spent.

That's why we focus on Asia. The region is home to 60% of the world's population, 60% of its food-related carbon emissions, and 75% of its farm animals—yet it receives a fraction of the philanthropic attention directed at food systems work in North America and Europe. The gap between need and funding is, in a word, enormous. It's also why we focus primarily on corporate policy change, where a handful of decision-makers can reshape animal welfare, carbon emissions and public health at scale.

To improve cost-efficiency we place staff where impact potential is highest and operational costs most reasonable. We fund what works, refine what's marginal, and cut what fails. When the right tools don’t exist, we create them—from AI-powered platforms to certification standards to books and media. And we measure our work not by what we did but by what actually changed.

We are here to be your lever—helping you move the world, meal by meal and policy by policy, toward a food system that is more healthy, humane and sustainable.

IN ASIA AND BEYOND (2025)

  • ⎯ 37 million animals will be raised in less-harmful systems each year (estimated)

    ⎯ 304 million lbs CO2 equivalent of greenhouse gas emissions will be eliminated each year (estimated)

    ⎯ 1.2 million fewer animals will be raised for food each year (estimated)

    ⎯ 146 million square meters of natural land will be conserved from use each year (estimated)

    ⎯ 97 million fewer grams of saturated fat, and 2 million fewer miligrams of cholesterol, will be consumed each year (estimated)

  • ⎯ 103 food companies issued new sustainable food policies

    ⎯ 13 food producers shifted to improved production systems

    ⎯ 701 million impressions were generated of news content and digital content on healthy and sustainable eating

  • ⎯ 24 million meals will be shifted to plant-based each year thanks to new company policies (estimated), and a similarly large but unknown number shifted thanks to new public education campaigns

    Lily leads Lever's corporate engagement with food companies across Greater China and East Asia on improved sourcing practices. Before Lever, she worked with Vision China on rural development and with FSSA Managers on APAC grant-making.

  • VILOSHA

    Malaysia and Singapore

    Vilosha leads corporate engagement with food companies in Malaysia and Singapore. She came to Lever from the corporate finance world—Sime Darby, Maybank, PETRONAS—where she oversaw investor relationships and sustainability strategy.

  • ROBYN

    The Philippines

    Robyn works with food companies and farmers in the Philippines on improved sourcing and production. Before Lever, she ran digital campaigns at PLDT and worked in corporate sales and social responsibility at PhilJets and United Airlines.

  • PURITA

    Thailand

    Purita leads corporate engagement with food companies and farmers in Thailand on improved sourcing and production practices. Before Lever, she worked with Singapore-based nonprofit AFIC on food safety and nutrition across Southeast Asia, and held communications roles at Tesco Lotus and a leading tech firm.

    Malaysia

    Kertna leads Lever's public education and communications work across Asia. Before Lever, she worked at social impact agency Ellis Jones Melbourne and conventional agencies with clients like Baskin-Robbins, Hush Puppies, and Corona.

    Lena manages graphic design across Lever's communications and content creation streams. Before Lever, she worked in luxury hospitality—including at the Four Seasons Bangkok—and creative agencies.

    Indonesia

    Kireina manages Lever's social media and communications in Indonesia and supports the organization's PR work across the region. Before Lever, she worked as an Industrial Relations and Formalities role at PT Merdeka Copper Gold, handled PR for Universitas Gadjah Mada's Vocational School, and spent five years working across social media — from agency work to brand management.

    Europe and the Americas

    Astrid leads Lever's corporate engagement and sustainability strategy across Europe and the Americas, working with leading food, hospitality, and retail companies on responsible sourcing. Before Lever, she was Managing Director of DAABON UK — a subsidiary of a $500M Colombian organic agriculture group — and served as Non-Executive Director at Soapworks Ltd.

    Thailand

    Ribbin works with food companies in Thailand on plant-based sourcing and menu commitments. Before Lever, she established Samata Life, a plant-based food hub in Chiang Mai. She also co-founded and headed communications for Samsee Production, following roles as a creative director.

  • MARIELLE

    The Philippines

    Marielle works with food companies and large institutions in the Philippines, helping them adopt plant-forward sourcing goals. Prior to joining Lever, she worked in the development sector as a Senior Project Associate at the National Service Training Program of the University of the Philippines Diliman.

    Saneh works with food companies in Thailand on cage-free and animal welfare commitments. Before Lever, he spent over a decade in food and beverage business development across Bangkok, Singapore, and Malaysia—including roles at Once Upon A Milkshake, Tiffinlab, King Mega Thailand, and Mark Creations, where he worked on franchise operations, restaurant launches, and brand scaling.

    South Korea


    Seulgi curates and manages Lever's digital presence in Korea. Before Lever, she worked across fashion, e-commerce, and legal industries, creating content strategies, designing campaigns, and running CRM marketing.

  • ARTI

    Indonesia


    Arti works with food companies and producers in Indonesia on cage-free and welfare-focused sourcing commitments. Before Lever, she worked in project management and business development across multinational environments, including PT Daewoong Pharmaceutical and Hyundai Engineering & Construction.
